Nestled in the heart of Asheville at 258 Broadway St, Five Points Restaurant invites you to experience an authentic American diner vibe with a warm, welcoming atmosphere that perfectly complements its hearty, flavorful cuisine. Known for blending classic comfort food with attentive service, this charming breakfast and lunch spot is a beloved local gem that effortlessly satisfies cravings from the early morning rush to casual midday meals.
Step inside Five Points and you’ll immediately feel the nostalgic charm of retro booths and a bustling counter where you can watch the cooks “slam and jam” orders with precision. The atmosphere hums with friendly energy—a place where familiar faces and genuine smiles make every visit more than just a meal, but a comforting ritual.
The menu is a tribute to American diner staples, and each dish highlights the care and quality that Five Points pours into its kitchen. Breakfast is a particular standout here. Imagine savoring perfectly fluffy biscuits smothered in rich, savory gravy or indulging in the Farmer's 3 Egg Omelets, bursting with fresh ingredients. Their sausage patties bring a satisfyingly seasoned warmth, while breakfast potatoes tossed with green peppers and onions add that ideal, hearty crunch. The French Toast Platter offers a lightly caramelized sweetness that is both nostalgic and deeply satisfying.
If you prefer a coastal twist at breakfast, their Crab Cake Eggs Benedict is a must-try. As Laura Poland raves, the fluffy béarnaise sauce with just the right dash of paprika and finely diced green onions elevates the succulent crab cake to something truly memorable—comforting yet refined. Pair that with a cup of rich hot chocolate for a creamy, indulgent start to your day.
Lunchtime options continue the tradition of diner favorites with an impressive lineup. The Pattie Melt Hamburger paired with crispy French fries offers that classic, juicy bite, while the Club Sandwich loaded with fresh ingredients provides a satisfying, layered texture. For something a bit lighter, the Greek Salad for One balances fresh greens, tangy feta, and olives—the perfect palate cleanser amid heartier fare. Don’t miss their homemade baklava for a sweet, flaky finish to your meal.
Customer experiences consistently highlight not just the tempting food but also the attentive, friendly service that rounds out each visit. As Ron Rosenzweig notes, the efficiency of staff during a bustling lunch rush adds to the charm, making dining here seamless and enjoyable. Meanwhile, Barry Kaye’s appreciation for the perfectly cooked “two of everything” breakfast special underlines the consistent quality that keeps locals and travelers alike coming back.
Five Points Restaurant truly shines through its ability to combine nostalgic diner flair with spirited, wholesome food. Whether it’s the comforting aroma of gravy on fried chicken livers (a surprising and delightful revelation as Kendall W Cochran III shares) or the interactive joy of sitting at the counter to watch the kitchen’s rhythm, this is a place that leaves a lasting impression on both appetite and heart.
For anyone seeking an authentic American breakfast or classic diner experience in Asheville, Five Points offers not just a meal, but a deliciously warm embrace of tradition and quality.
The crab cake eggs Benedict had a perfectly fluffy bernaise, the crab was of good quality, and spiced with a nice dash of paprika and small diced green onions within the sauce. Service constantly checked on our well being. The biscuits are very well cooked. Very satisfying and affordable!
Five Points offers a good old fashioned "diner" experience. Friendly and efficient servers. We were able to get in quickly on a very busy Friday for lunch. Timing is everything. The food was good and sitting at the counter was entertaining. The cooks were slamming and jamming. I had a chicken wrap with fries and my wife had an open face roast beef plate with apple sauce and green beans. The only downside for me personally is the place is pretty noisy. My recommendation is to go to Five Points and get there early!
We're in Asheville for a long weekend getaway and were looking for a locals place for breakfast. The retro booths, counter service and the short orders cooks right there in front you, gave this a diner vibe restaurant. We booth ordered the 5 Points Special, two of everything - bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes or French Toast. The food was cooked perfectly as ordered. My pancakes were loaded with blueberries. The service was quick and excellent.
Fun diner!! I sat at the bar and watched the cooks do their thing. The place was packed. I had their eggs Benedict with crabcakes. It is not the best version of that that I’ve had, but it was very tasty.
I had never had gravy on Fried Chicken Livers before, so I hadn’t realized that it was missing from my life. These were honestly the best Chicken Livers I’ve had. I enjoyed my whole meal. Service was excellent too! I’ve told all my friends and coworkers and plan on returning.
We arrived on a Monday around 10:30 and were able to grab bar seating, which was the only option at the time. After placing orders, we did not wait long for our food; pancake combo and corned beef hash and eggs. The pancakes pretty big and tasted great! My partner liked the corned beef hash but wished they had a bit more seasoning. I would definitely is it again when in AVL. The prices were good and I enjoyed the service. I loved watching the employees interact. It seemed like a good family environment.
Best breakfast spot ever!!! First day we waited 15-20 minutes and it was WELL worth the wait. We had the Western omelet (not pictured), the Farmer's omelet, a biscuit, French toast, and pancakes (not pictured). Simply put, if you're NOT having breakfast here, what ARE you eating?! Definitely a staple for us on this trip. Can't wait to visit again.
An excellent spot to start the day with a classic diner breakfast. The food comes out fresh and full of flavor, and the service is quick and friendly. Watching the cooks in action adds to the experience, even if the energy makes it a bit lively. The quality of the meal more than makes up for it, making this place well deserving of a five star review.
